The MIT License is a free software license which originated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Its licensing means that it permits the use within proprietary software, provided that the license is included in the software's distribution. It is also GPL compatible, meaning that the GPL permits combination and redistribution with software that uses the MIT license.
